October 17th 2011 -
The
City of Aurora’s Fox Valley Golf Club will close for the 2011 season Monday,
Oct. 17 to begin course maintenance sustained from the excessive heat wave this
summer.
Following
the closure, the golf staff plans to core-aerify, seed and fertilize the putting
greens. Keeping golfers off the course,
2500 N. River Road, North Aurora, will give the restoration work the necessary
time to recover.
“The City of Aurora and golf staff want to
thank patrons who have continued to support the Fox Valley Golf Club through
the 2011 season,” said Jeff Schmidt, PGA Operations Manager for the City. “We hope the maintenance work this fall will
enhance play starting next spring.”
Groupon
certificates at the Fox Valley Golf Club will be honored at the Phillips Park
Golf Course, 1001 Hill Ave., Aurora, which remains open. To schedule a tee time or for more
information on the Phillips Park course, call 630-256-3760 or visit www.phillipsparkaurora.com
