Phillips Park Golf Course joins nationwide “Youth on Course” program!
Youth on Course is a nationwide program for young golfers ages 6-18 that allows them to play at participating courses for $5.00.
Established in 2006 out of the Northern California Golf Association, Youth on Course began as a way to increase the accessibility and affordability of golf for Northern California youth. It quickly became apparent that there was a huge demand for the program outside of Northern California. The program was re-imagined as a nationwide initiative to grow the game, and the name Youth on Course was born to establish a national identity.
To date, Youth on Course has expanded to 19 regions, subsidized more than 600,000 rounds of golf, hired more than 115 interns and 362 caddies, and award $275,000+ in scholarships annually.
In Illinois, juniors may register for the program through the Chicago District Golf Association. A Youth On Course Membership offers juniors with the opportunity to play participating courses all over the country for only $5.00 greens fees. Juniors are required to make advanced reservations based upon course availability as well as present a membership card when checking in to play.
In 2017, the program’s first season in Illinois, 3,200 youth golfers had affordable access at 50 courses. The CDGA is making a commitment to expand the number of participating courses with a focus on the greater Chicago area.

Are there any restrictions for playing?
Many Youth on Courses have some restrictions in place. Call ahead to make a tee time and check available times for Youth on Course players.
Will I get a Youth on Course membership card?
Yes. It should arrive a couple of weeks after you register. In the meantime, you are able to print a temporary card through your account on the CDGA web site to use until the hard card arrives.
How do I know which courses are participating?
Check the map HERE or go to www.youthoncourse.org and launch the map. Courses are being added throughout the season so if you don’t see a course you are looking for, check back later.
What age do I have to be to participate in Youth on Course?
You must be at least 6 years old to join. You can stay part of Youth on Course until the fall after you graduate high school.
How long does my membership last?
Memberships are valid for one calendar year (until Jan. 1).
Can I use my Youth on Course membership outside of Illinois?
Yes! If there are participating courses in an area you are visiting, you are able to use your membership there regardless of where you live. Check the map at www.youthoncourse.org to see all of the participating courses in Youth on Course states. And don’t forget to bring your Youth on Course membership card with you!
